VAPES
Convenient, fun, subtle, potent and oh so tasty!
It's no secret that vaping as a method of consuming cannabis is becoming increasingly popular. Vape pens, shatter pens, dab pens, and cartridges are discrete, convenient, and efficient ways to consume your preferred cannabis strain.
In just one year, cannabis vape cartridges have almost achieved celebrity status in Alberta. It is a very popular option for today’s cannabis consumers. Perfect for those interested in alternative methods of consumption (a break from the nightly bong), to those who prioritize discretion (maybe you live in the Kingsland apartments), or those looking to dip their toes into the extraordinary world of cannabis concentrates.
Vaporizing Pen and cartridges are ideal if you want to consume cannabis without the traditional methods of smoking or using an extract, and they also provide discretion because they are not visible on their body like other products with regular use of these vape pens.

Types of Vape Cartridges
Distillates
Distillate is cannabis oil that has been
refined and separated into a
cannabinoid-dominant product.
The pros of using a distillate cart are that it is a high potency product that has predictable effects and can be used with botanical flavors to cover up or mask the flavors of the distillate, distillate cartridges are also cheaper than other cartridges. Some of the cons of a distillate cart are the effects do wear off relatively quickly compared to full spectrum or live
resin/rosin cartridges as it does
not have all the compounds to
make up the entourage effect.
Full
Spectrum
Full-spectrum cannabis oil is
named such because it provides a
wide array of the compounds found naturally in cannabis, including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and potentially the plants waxes and fats. Full-spectrum cannabis oil can be made a variety of different ways, including through pressure along with heat (e.g., rosin press), ethanol extraction, and supercritical CO2 extraction. These methods will not only concentrate the THC in the cannabis plant, but also pull levels of other cannabinoids into the concentration. These types of extraction methods will smell and taste much
more like the actual
cannabis flower.
Live Resin
A live resin cart is like a full-spectrum
cartridge but not identical. What is important
to know is that all live resin carts are full-spectrum, but not all full-spectrum carts are live resin. Unlike Full Spectrum cartridges live cartridges are processed using cannabis flowers that have not been through the drying and curing process. Live Resin cartridges have a more in-depth flavor profile and is most like dabbing concentrates than other cartridges.
Types of Vaporizers and Pens
510 Battery
510 Batteries are a type of vaporizer that is used for concentrates or extracts that are in cartridges. 510 is one of the most common type of batteries, but it can come in many different formats including pens or palm sized devices
These batteries are usually rechargeable and some of them come with temperature controls so that you can utilize it for different types of concentrate extracts.
Concentrates
Cannabis concentrates come in different
forms like wax, shatter, Resin, Diamonds and other forms.
These concentrates are usually in a semi-solid form, that can look like crumbles, sticky wax- also known as dabs or solid glass like pieces. The concentrate is placed in a “coil” that is connected to the battery and heats up very quickly.
DRY HERB
Dry herb vaporizers are usually portable, handheld devices, that use a small oven
to heat up the raw, dry herb and extract THC in the form of inhalable vapor. These vapes usually have a short heat up time of 20-40 seconds, then they reach vaporization temperature which is around 380 degrees Fahrenheit, and they stay there for a “session” that lasts a few minutes. During the session, the user can inhale the vapor, and at the end of the session, the herb is “cashed” and will
need to be replaced. Generally, one oven equals one session, and the same herb
cannot be used for
multiple sessions.
