Pinene

Pinene is what gives pine needles their smell. There are 2 varieties of Pinene. Alpha(a-pinene) provides us with the pine smell and flavor, and Beta(b-pinene) has more of an earthy herb smell like rosemary, parsley, or dill. Pinene is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which is thought to counteract the short-term memory loss induced by THC. In synergy with THC, Pinene promotes broncho-dilatory effects, opening up airways at low exposure levels to help conditions like asthma, and may increase alertness. Alpha-pinene can also counteract THC-induced anxiety.
